Based on the 1980 smash hit of the same name, the 2009 remake of Fame breathes new life into one of the catchiest songs from the '80s. This exuberant film follows talented young kids eager to burst into the spotlight, with shades of the High School Musical franchise. The star-studded cast includes Kelsey Grammer, Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Megan Mullally, and Bebe Neuwirth, with breakthrough performances from Naturi Naughton, Collins Pennie, Kay Panabaker, and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

Grammer's Mr. Cranston bellows, "You have talent. Now let's see what you can do with it!" The adults wisely step aside to let the kids, especially Denise, shine. As with the original, the music stands out, with updated versions of songs from the 1980 Fame and new tunes that feel fresh and exciting.
